Product description

Latin name:  Pachira Aquatica or Chestnut of Guyana

A few words:  The fat (or fat) is an impressive small tree that in recent years we often find in home living rooms, offices and business premises. Indoors its height varies between 1-2 meters. Originally from Central America, the fat has shiny pentagonal leaves and characteristic beautiful trunks (usually 3) that are intertwined. Money may not grow on trees, but fat is better known as the "money tree" (money tree) and “good luck tree”. According to feng shui.

Light:  It grows best in a bright place inside the house, in a place where the direct rays of the sun do not hit so as not to create burns and brown spots on the leaves. Also due to its great adaptability, the fat can grow in a place where we have less lighting.

Water:  The fat has low watering requirements, as it needs relatively little moisture in its soil to grow satisfactorily. Specifically, from autumn to spring, we water once a week while in the hot summer months we make sure to water more regularly, twice a week.

Temperature:  The fat is sensitive to low temperatures which can lead to a drop in its foliage. During the winter, we make sure to place it away from the frosted windows, as well as from radiators.

Fertilization: Regarding the fertilization of the fat, in order to keep its foliage green, we use liquid fertilizer for green plants, once a month, from spring to autumn.

Last tip: In early spring or autumn, we can do a light pruning to give it a specific shape and limit its large growth. When pruning, cut some leaves from the extreme vegetation of the fat and leaves that have turned yellow or dried. The fat is also referred to as "Guyana chestnut" as in the tropical environment that grows, it gives characteristic large fruits that are eaten and reminiscent of chestnut flavor.
