Product description

Latin name: Mammilaria polythele cv. Stachellos

A few words: To  Mammillaria polythele  is a cactus up like green pine. Appears thorns with the appearance of fine hair 25-40mm. Its flowers are 10-18 mm long, and are small pink-purple. As the flowering has a long duration from spring to summer.

Light: Prefers sunny planting locations.

Water : Cacti need very good drainage and therefore it is good to use a special substrate for cacti during transplanting. Watering should be repeated every time the substrate dries. We usually water very well and then wait for it to dry.

Temperature:  In general, most cacti can withstand temperatures even below zero. Many times low temperatures are responsible for a rich spring flowering as they help to differentiate the buds from sprouting to flowering. There are clearly exceptions that require protection from the low temperatures of winter. In these cases it is advisable to use antifreeze cloth or carry them to sheltered areas when possible.

Fertilization: We usually use liquid water-soluble fertilizer for cacti, from the beginning of January until the autumn.

Last tip: Cacti usually suffer from rot due to excessive watering, especially in autumn and winter. So pay attention to the substrate we use.
