Product description
Latin name: Aloe Humilis X Erinacea
A few words:Aloe humilis x Erinacea is a hybrid resulting from the crossing of A. erinacea and A. humilis, so it does not exist in nature. The two species from which it is derived, A. humilis and A. erinacea, are native to southern Africa. It is a small plant that does not exceed 50 cm in height. It is similar to both species from which it comes. It consists, in fact, of a rosette of dense, spiny, pointed leaves, light green or dark green depending on the plant. The thorns are actually thick, pointy little feathers, always lighter in colour than the rest of the leaf and potentially harmful. Pay attention when handling the plant! The inflorescence is larger than the whole plant and is located at the top of an elongated stem.
Light: place it in a bright spot, avoiding direct sunlight during the hottest hours of summer days.
Water: they need very good drainage and therefore it is good to use a special substrate for cacti when transplanting. It is advisable to repeat the watering every time the substrate dries. We usually water it very well and then wait for it to dry. In winter, we advise you to place it indoors, also to keep it away from winter rains that can cause rotting of the leaves and roots.
Temperature:The minimum temperatures the plant can tolerate is 6ºC.Below this temperature it starts to suffer, so it should be placed indoors during the coldest periods.
Fertilisation: fertilisation starts in spring and is completed in autumn. Water-soluble balanced fertilizers accelerate the growth and flower development on a monthly basis.
