Latin name: Ficus elastica “Variegata”

A few words: Fig tree is one of the most popular ornamental trees in the world. In colder climates you use it as an indoor plant. In our country we know the fig more as an indoor plant but in various coastal areas usually of southern Greece it is found in yards and gardens.

Light: Prefers places where there is bright light although it grows in semi-shady places.

Water: The water requirements of the plant are moderate and the soil should have a relative humidity.

Temperature: Does not like low temperatures, below 5 - 10 οC.

Fertilization: For the best growth of the plant it is good to add a water soluble fertilizer once every 15 days.

Last tip-tip: Requires light, sandy loam soils, rich in organic matter and well drained.
