Product description
Latin name: Orbea Decaisneana
A few words: Orbea Decaisneana is a multi-branched succulent that does not exceed 20 cm in height. Its stems are cylindrical in shape with a slightly angular protrusion. Its flowers are reddish-brown in color and cream on the outside. Flowering begins in summer-winter.
Light: Prefers sunny planting locations.
Water: Cacti and succulents need very good drainage and for this it is good to use a special substrate for cacti when transplanting. Watering should be repeated every time the substrate dries. We usually water very well and then wait for it to dry.
Temperature: In general, most cacti can withstand temperatures even below zero. Several times low temperatures are responsible for a rich spring flowering as they contribute to the differentiation of the buds from blastophores to flowers. There are of course exceptions that require protection from the cold winter temperatures. In these cases it is good to use antifreeze fabric or to move them to sheltered places when this is possible.
Fertilization: We usually use liquid water-soluble fertilizer for cacti, from the beginning of January until autumn.
Last advice-prompt: Cacti usually suffer from rotting due to excessive watering, especially in the fall and winter season. So be careful with the substrate we use.
