Product description

Aerophyte Tillandia ionantha planch in a bowl, contains pumice and moss in dark green color. Its simplicity will impress and give a tropical feeling to your space.

Latin name: Tillandia ionantha planch

A few words: Aerophytes belong to the genus Tillandsia. Most species that belong to this genus, are epiphytic, ie their natural tendency is to cling wherever conditions allow and to feed - coexist with them. Due to their epiphytic lifestyle, these plants will not grow in the ground but will live on tree branches, bark, bare rocks and various substrates that are not saturated with moisture. This property, fails their special durability in special conditions and thus makes them an integral part of interior decoration in recent years. They are ideal plants for Terrarium glasses, pots and anything else you can imagine. If we exclude the attention they need in their watering, the rest of the care they require is minimal.

Light: They prefer enough lighting for their growth, with indirect light. Direct exposure to the sun can cause burns on the leaves. They grow properly in artificial light.

Water: Irrigation in aerophytes is special and is directly related to the conditions prevailing in the area where they are located. Relatively high humidity in the room or increased temperature due to a heating source, clearly affect the frequency of watering. Indicatively, once a week you can water them in the form of a spray and once a month, immerse them in a container of water for 5 minutes. After watering, turn them upside down so that they eliminate the last drop of moisture.

Temperature: Excellent temperatures for their growth, it is 15-25 ℃. While under 10. Damage to the foliage is caused.

Fertilization: Aerophytes do not have special fertilization requirements, but you can apply liquid fertilizer for indoor plants at a sparse concentration once a month.

Last Tip-Tip: When the humidity level is low in your room, then increase the sprays. Their growth rate is clearly slow and you should not worry about it until you realize that they are losing the luster of their leaves.
